This page showcases a range of illustration techniques I use throughout my work. While I typically define my style through bold linework and exaggerated, cartoonish proportions, I consistently push against those instincts to explore new approaches. The following pieces serve as a record of that experimentation, highlighting moments where I step outside my usual visual language to test different textures, forms, and rendering methods.

Self Portrait
This illustration was created for a college class to depict a scene, in this case, my bedroom as a self-portrait. I worked with a limited color palette and experimented with two distinct light sources to create depth and visual contrast within the composition.

Woman with a fan Revised
The original artwork, Woman With Fan by Jean Metzinger, was reinterpreted for my college portfolio review. The assignment focused on practicing color painting by working from an existing piece, and this became my first attempt at acrylic painting. While not strictly an illustration, it demonstrates my approach to traditional media and my ability to engage thoughtfully with color and composition despite limited prior experience.

Gyo Panel
Original artwork by Junji Ito, featured in Gyo. I found his work incredibly striking and used it as a study to practice traditional dip pen techniques. Working from the book as reference, I created this using a G-pen and Microns for the finer technical lines. The process was intentionally challenging, but it forced me to slow down and fully engage with the medium, making it a rewarding exercise in patience and control.

Florida...
Pictured is my submission for the Stick n’ Slap gallery in Orlando, Florida. The prompt was simply “Florida,” so I illustrated common state motifs such as orange juice, Publix, alligators, and theme parks. I combined painterly detail with a bold outline to create a textured yet clean final composition. The week-long gallery also gave me valuable experience engaging with other like-minded creatives in a professional exhibition setting.

SWGE Poster Contest
This poster was designed for a Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge competition at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios backstage area. It reimagines Corellia, a fictional planet in Star Wars, as a 1920s-style tourism poster. Referencing common imagery from that era, I illustrated Han Solo and Qi’ra from Solo: A Star Wars Story riding in a speeder. This piece won and is currently displayed in the backstage area.
